History of Nash's

Past: Having gained its name from grandmother Nash, the original shop opened in the early 1920s at 42 Park Lane, Leeds. Her grandson took over the business from his ailing father and purchased a second business in 1960 at 102 Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton. In 1963 the family opened Nash's Tudor Fish Bar and Restaurant in Merrion Street, Leeds. Two years later 42 Park Lane was demolished to make way for the Law Courts.

Present: We bought Nash's on Harrogate Road in December 2002, now renamed "The Original Nash's Fish Restaurant". Together with our younger son, Andrew, we will continue to run it as a family business. The premises underwent extensive refurbishment in 2004 and in the same year we achieved "North East Regional Winner" and a top ten position in the National Fish & Chip Shop of the Year competition. The name Nash's has been synonymous with good fish and chips in Leeds for over 80 years, and we are committed to providing a high standard of quality.
